Apparently the Department of Justice will formally promulgate on Friday, 8 May 2009, to be effective from 15 June 2009, a 60% increase in party and party tariffs in both the High and Magistrates Courts.A further 40 % increase will follow next year.

This is great news, bearing in mind that the last taffif increase in the Magistrates court was 18th February 2002 and in the High court 4th January 2004. The increases will at least bring Party & Party fees in line with inflation (especially in the High Court)
